(Porter County, IN) - A semi caught fire on a Porter County highway Wednesday afternoon.
Around 3:30 pm Chesterton firefighters were called to SR 49 just south of the I-94 interchange, where a northbound semi-tractor was going up in smoke.
They were able to keep the fire from reaching the trailer, which contained recycling materials. “Contents in the trailer were checked for heat with a thermal imaging camera and none was found,” the CFD noted.
The driver of the truck was not injured and firefighters did not determine a cause.
