(La Porte County, IN) - The La Porte County Commissioners have a new president for 2026.  Commissioner Steve Holfield was named president in a 3-0 vote by members of the commission during the reorganization portion at their meeting this morning.  Former president Connie Gramarossa was voted in as vice president.

 

 

 

Commissioner Joe Haney nominated for vice-president lost to Gramarossa in a 2 - 1 vote.  The president and vice-president are appointed annually by the commissioners.  Holifield, a farmer from the Mill Creek area, just completed his first year on the commission while Gramarossa is entering the final year of her four year term.
