(La Porte, IN) - The La Porte High School boys’ basketball team begins the New Year with a nine game winning streak.

Their only loss was a blow out to a very good South Bend Riley team during the season opener.  Our very own voice of the Slicers, Ben Davis, wants to see a rematch between the Slicers and Riley in the post season tournament, feeling La Porte has improved enough to have a better chance at an upset.

The Slicers lost to Riley in last year’s sectional championship game.  “I’m a believer now.  I believe in this La Porte Slicers basketball team,” he said.  The Slicers recently won the Holiday Tournament it hosted by defeating Michigan City in the title game by three points.  La Porte plays again Tuesday night at Elkhart.
