(Lake County, IN) - Indiana State Police are investigating a fatal accident on westbound I-80/94.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday morning near Gary. Police have not provided much detail on the crash, which involved a passenger car and a semi hauling 40,000 pounds of frozen food. The driver of the car, a 53-year-old woman from Roseville, Michigan, died in the accident. The truck driver was not injured. The left three lanes were closed for approximately 5 hours for scene cleanup.
