Multiple Semi Truck Accidents Clogged Area Highways Monday

(Northern Indiana) - Wrecked semis clogged up highways east of La Porte County on Monday.

Around 8:00am, and then about an hour later, two tractor trailers jackknifed on two different stretches of the Indiana Toll Road near Bristol.  Lanes were shut down for several hours.

On the U.S. 20 -31 bypass, just west of South Bend, another semi jackknifed near the Western Avenue exit. That happened shortly after noon.  According to the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Office, the southbound truck was hit by a gust of wind, causing it to swerve and hit a guardrail. That wreck reduced the highway to one lane and took a couple of hours to clean up.

No injuries were reported in any of those accidents.
