(La Porte County, IN) - Today’s wintry weather, including the gusty winds, is producing scattered power outages locally.

According to NIPSCO, there were 39 customers without power as of 9:30 a.m. in the utility company’s La Porte service territory.  Another 26 NIPSCO customers in the Michigan City area were also without power.

NIPSCO was especially busy this morning trying to restore power to the west in places like Munster, which had over 1,700 customers without power.  Highland had more than 600 customers without electrical service.

Indiana Michigan Power Company reports over 200 customers without power this morning in the Springville area.
