South Central Unveils New Outdoor AED

(Union Mills, IN) - A La Porte County school has installed a new public lifesaving device on its campus.

South Central High School recently unveiled an outdoor AED station. It’s located in front of the school building outside door #3.

The new equipment was paid for by Tonn & Blank Construction. South Central also thanked Julie West from the Play for Jake Foundation and Cpt. Derek Allen from the La Porte County Sheriff's Office for spearheading the effort.

The SaveStation is the 6th outdoor 24/7 accessible AED at South Central. The others were provided by Health Foundation of La Porte. The new one will actually automatically call 911 when it is accessed.

The school has a total of 15 potable AEDs on campus now. AEDs are managed and maintained by our certified athletic trainer, Danielle McIntyre, and RN Kelli Soenksen, the school corporation nurse.
