(La Porte County, IN) - A driver blamed ice for him striking a tree.

 

That may or may not be true, but La Porte County Police say he was intoxicated.  The crash happened Thursday afternoon in the area of 300 South and 500 East.

 

Police said Shawn Miller, 32, told investigators he drove over a sheet of ice, causing him to leave the road and strike the tree head on in his 2014 Dodge Charger.

 

Fortunately, he was not injured.

 

Police said Miller had a blood alcohol level close to three times the .08 percent legal limit.
