He went on a shoplifting spree at different stores in La Porte before arrested during a foot chase.

 

Those are the allegations faced by Jacob Brennan, 32, who's charged in La Porte Circuit Court with Level 6 felony theft.

 

According to court documents, police were called Tuesday night about a man later identified as Brennan running from Rural King with items he allegedly stole from the store.

 

Police said responding officers spotted him then lost sight of the man seen again a short time later running through the parking lot of a nearby urgent medical care facility.  He was spotted again a short time later outside Biggby Coffee before he started walking beside a long concrete wall.

 

Police said Brennan soon complied with orders to put his hands in the air and lay down on the ground on his stomach.

 

A backpack filled with an electric razor and other stolen items from several stores in the immediate area was recovered, police said.

 

Police said Brennan was recognized by responding officers because of multiple previous encounters with law enforcement.
