Record Shattering Fund Raising Drive

(La Porte, IN) - The Pax Center has revealed its 2025 Giving Tuesday campaign raised a record $84,157 from 136 generous donors.  The goal was $50,000.

"One week after Giving Tuesday, we are still celebrating and receiving donations," said Pastor Nate Loucks, President of The Pax Center.

"This initiative was not just about fundraising; it was about neighbors helping neighbors. When individuals and businesses come together like this, they show that LaPorte County is a kind and generous community,” he said.

Loucks said the money helps provide food for the needy at a time when demand for food assistance is the highest since early in the pandemic.

The campaign included gifts from longtime partners and new collaborators. Participating businesses and organizations included:

  • AIM Water Treatment
  • LP Seamless Gutter
  • Edward Jones - Financial Advisor: Tim Gartland
  • Ladybug Laundry
  • Steiner Homes
  • Osborn Wealth Management
  • Braje, Nelson & Janes LLP
  • Mitch and Karyl Feikes Family Foundation
  • MC Doors
  • Committee to Elect Jim Pressel
  • The National Association of Letter Carriers, Branch 455, Michigan City
  • Woodland North Partners
  • Whittler & Hesters CPA
  • Pavey Excavating

Thee funds will support The Pax Center's core programs throughout the winter and into 2026:

  • Food Pantry: Served over 9,501 neighbors in the past 12 months (from November 2024 to October 2025), averaging more than 60 clients per distribution.
  • Community Meals: Exceeded the total number of meals served for the entire year of 2024 by early October 2025.
  • The Pax Gardens: Operates three locations that provide thousands of pounds—and dollars' worth—of free fresh produce each year.

"We are grateful for all partners who contributed to keeping LaPorte County and surrounding communities well-fed and supported," Loucks said.
