(La Porte County, IN) - There were no injuries when two garages caught fire just outside La Porte.

 

 

This happened on Thanksgiving night in the 100 block of Judson Road close to the northern edge of Pine Lake.

 

According to La Porte County Police, a detached garage with a motor vehicle inside was fully engulfed in flames when emergency responders began showing up just before 9 p.m.

 

 

Heat from the fire also resulted in some windows on the residence shattering along with the heating and air conditioning system for the home melting.  The fire with help from strong cross winds spread next door to another detached garage, which sustained damage to the siding and roof on the north side of the structure, police said.

 

Center Township Fire Department Capt. Eric Haverstock said the exterior of the home next door also sustained fire damage. The Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office is trying to determine the cause of the fire.
