(La Porte County, IN) - Police say a La Porte area woman posing a major danger to other drivers was seriously impaired.

 

Kathleen Sass, 71, is charged in La Porte Circuit Court with Class A misdemeanor operating while intoxicated.

 

Police said another driver following her Friday night on U.S. 421 reported she was veering over the center line, traveling slower than the posted speed limit and allowing her turn signal to keep blinking even though she wasn’t turning.

 

During a traffic stop near Michigan City, police said Sass explained she had consumed two margaritas with the last one being several hours ago.

 

However, Sass after stepping out of the vehicle was grabbed by an officer to keep her from falling. Her alleged blood alcohol level was .289 percent.

 

Police said Sass was also given a warning ticket for unsafe lane movement.
