(La Porte County, IN) - A man overdosing on drugs in the Michigan City area seemed near death until given Narcan by emergency responders overnight.
Just after midnight, La Porte County Police responded to a report of a man overdosing in the 3800 block of N. 600 West.
Officers found a 27 year old man lying on his back on the floor near a kitchen sink having serious trouble breathing. He was also unresponsive even after a medical procedure designed to wake him failed to do so, police said. After a second dose of Narcan, the man later identified as Jacob Lemons, eventually, regained consciousness.
Police said a syringe was found on his possession before he was transported to a hospital. A warrant is being sought for his arrest on Level 6 felony possession of a hypodermic syringe, police said. The charge is punishable by a six month to 30 month sentence.
