(Michigan City, IN) - What could be viewed as a life sentence has been given for the shootings of two men in Michigan City. Javan Brown of Michigan City received a 115 year sentence on two counts of attempted murder and one gun related charge.
The shootings happened over two years ago in the 400 block of York St. Brown, 23, stepped out of a car, fired shots and ran back to the vehicle, police said. More shots rang out from the vehicle as he fled the scene. Police said one man was shot in the head but the bullet did not penetrate his skull while the other man was shot multiple times in the leg. In 2019, Brown was given a more than five year sentence for reckless homicide in connection with the accidental fatal shooting of a friend.
