(La Porte County, IN) - La Porte County Police say alcohol was a factor in a two vehicle accident in a gas station parking lot.

 

Austin Kosinski, 28, of Rolling Prairie was arrested following the early Saturday morning accident at Gallop’s Marathon at U.S. 20 and Indiana 39.

 

Police said Kosinski told officers he began driving away from a gas pump without looking up and struck the vehicle.  He also told officers he had a few beers at a party three hours prior to the collision.

 

According to police, Kosinski, who exhibited various symptoms of impairment, was arrested for Class A misdemeanor operating while intoxicated after refusing to submit to a certified breathalyzer test.

 

There were no injuries reported.
