Temporary One Lane Travel Soon on I-94

(La Porte County, IN) - A stretch of Interstate 94 will be reduced to one lane in each direction at night for ongoing road work.

According to the Indiana Department of Transportation, one lane travel for eastbound traffic will be from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on July 31 and August 1 from U.S. 421 to U.S. 20/35.

There will be one overnight westbound lane between the same locations on August 7 & 8.

Currently, the six lane interstate in that area is down to two lanes in each direction because of ongoing patching and bridge deck overlay work just west of 400 North.

The work that began about three months ago is scheduled to be completed in mid-December.

INDOT encourages drivers to consider safety for all by slowing down, using extra caution and driving distraction-free when travelling in and around all work zones.
