(St. Joseph County, IN) - Two fugitives from the law in Lake County apparently thought they’d be funny by taunting police.

 

According to the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department, last week, their crime tip line received messages from 31-year-old Emaun Ishmon and his mother, Ebony Pennington. They both had active warrants out for their arrest. Ishmon was wanted for failing to appear in court for OWI with a prior conviction. Pennington had warrants for charges related to felony deception, check fraud, and theft.

 

According to police, the messages, peppered with laughing face emojis, bragged that the pair couldn’t be caught since they no longer in the area.

 

“Catch me if you can lol,” one message read. “I don’t live in South Bend you idiots. Have a nice day.”

 

Catch them authorities did, less than two days later, in Lake County, with the help of the Fugitive Task Force and Lake Station Police Department.
