Pickle Ball Courts a Gift to Town

(Westville, IN) - The Town of Westville is having two pickle ball courts put in at absolutely no cost.  Town Council President Mike Albert said the work at Prairie Meadow Park would have cost an estimated $125,000 to $150,000 had there been a bill.

Bowen Engineering is leading the "give back" effort.  The company has been doing major work at the water treatment plant related to the new prison which is under construction.

The cement for the two pickle ball courts, which will feature lights for playing at night, was poured Tuesday.  Albert said the anticipated opening of the courts is late August.

The water treatment plant in Westville is roughly doubling in size to accommodate future demand from the new Westville Correctional Facility, which will also house the Indiana State Prison.

The $1.2 billion prison is expected to be completed in early 2027.
