(La Porte, IN) - There’s a new principal at Kingsbury Elementary School.  Kyle Dean was formerly the principal at Michigan City High School since 2021 and previously was assistant principal at the high school/middle school in Westville.

 

“I have a genuine appreciation for elementary students and miss the meaningful interaction that comes with supporting their unique developmental needs,” he said.

 

The La Porte Community School Corporation cited things like significant improvements in academic performance and graduation rates during his tenure at Michigan City High School for his selection.

 

“His proven track record of student success and commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments make him an excellent fit for our Kingsbury Elementary community,” said La Porte Schools Superintendent Dr. Sandra Wood.

 

He replaces Liz Wiesemann, who was principal at Kingsbury since 2015 until promoted to associate principal at La Porte High School for the upcoming school year.
