(Michigan City, IN) - A skydiver was injured in a hard landing in Michigan City on Sunday.

It happened about 10 a.m. at the municipal airport.

According to the fire department, an experienced skydiver landed hard on the concrete.  The individual was airlifted to a trauma center with undisclosed injuries to the lower extremities.

Fire officials said the injured person was conscious and alert at the time.
