(La Porte, IN) - A man is accused of knocking out a woman’s teeth with a punch at a downtown La Porte establishment.  Paris McCoy, 32, is charged with Level 6 felony battery in La Porte Circuit Court.

Police said McCoy and the woman were at Monty’s Pool Hall at 1004 Lincolnway early Thursday, July 10th, when they began arguing over the bar tab.  At one point, McCoy allegedly knocked out four of the woman’s teeth with a blow to the mouth and hit the owner of the bar in the face.

McCoy left before officers showed up but he was soon taken into custody at his residence on Weller Avenue, police said.

He could face as much as a 30 month sentence on the Level 6 felony charge. Police said the owner of the bar did not suffer any obvious injuries.
