(La Porte County, IN) - Three men could face prison time for numerous gunshots that include some fired toward homes just outside La Porte.

 

Dane Hathaway and Ryan Graf were among the men charged in La Porte Circuit Court with Level 6 felony criminal recklessness.

 

According to court documents, the gunshots on July 3rd and July 4th came from what one of the complainants described as “the biker house” on West McClung Road near Fishtrap Lake.  Another complainant expressed fear about how close the rounds with some landing in the water were coming to his residence, police said.

 

Following the most recent complaints, police said officers responded to the suspected residence and located the men near multiple firearms and numerous spent shell casings that included shotgun shells.  According to police, the men explained they were shooting off fireworks, but one of the suspects stated just two or three rounds were also fired from a pistol.

 

Given the evidence, though, police said the men were quickly taken into custody and booked into the La Porte County Jail.

 

03/03/26 UPDATE:  This story was updated to remove the name and likeness of the third man initially charged in this case.  The court ruled his case as "dismissed without prejudice" and his charges were expunged by the court.
