(Michigan City, IN) - A traffic violation in Michigan City resulted in a chase and capture of the driver last evening.
Curtis Taylor, 53, is charged with resisting law enforcement.
About 6 p.m., an officer spotted him make an improper right turn from a left turn lane on Barker Ave., police said.
Police said the officer tried making a traffic stop but Taylor accelerating and driving erratically ran two signs before stopping in the 200 block of South St. and fleeing on foot.
After Taylor jumped a rot iron fence, he was hit with a single probe from a Taser gun. However, the officer noticing he was not totally incapacitated fired again striking Taylor with both Taser probes.
Police said he fell on his back and rolled onto his stomach before placed in handcuffs.
According to police, Taylor at the time had active warrants for his arrest through the Michigan City and La Porte police departments.
