(La Porte County, IN) - A man is facing charges following a lengthy police chase from Michigan City.

 

Devonte Williams, 33, was still being held today in the La Porte County Jail on charges that include resisting law enforcement.

 

On Friday, police said an officer tried stopping him for reckless driving on U.S. 20, triggering a pursuit into Porter County. Eventually, the chase ended near Westville.

 

At least one of the tires on the fleeing vehicle was flattened with stop sticks and the vehicle after traveling through two yards crashed into a ditch near U.S. 6., police said.

 

Police said Williams of Michigan City had an active warrant for his arrest from downstate.
