(Cook County, IL) - 24-year-old Sarah Gudeman of Kouts died in a motorcycle accident Friday night. It happened on an Illinois expressway near the south Chicago suburb of Glenwood.

According to reports, Gudeman was riding one motorcycle when another one driven by 22-year-old Justin Fasnacht rear-ended her bike. Fasnacht, of Crown Point, died later at a hospital. Gudeman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gudeman graduated from Michigan City High School in 2019, where she excelled at swimming, setting several records and earning a swimming scholarship. For a couple of summers, she worked as a lifeguard at Washington Park Beach. Gudeman had just graduated from Purdue Northwest with a nursing degree and was working in the Emergency Department of St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart.
