(La Porte County, IN) - Both women involved in last Friday’s fatal crash outside of Michigan City had their initial hearings Tuesday morning.
29-year-old Deondra L. Moore of Ft. Wayne and 26-year-old Felisha A. Stout of Westville each appeared separately via Zoom in La Porte’s Superior Court 1. The women are accused of engaging in acts of road rage on a La Porte County road, resulting in a fiery car crash in which Moore’s 10-month-old daughter perished.
Moore’s charge is Level 5 Felony Reckless Homicide, which carries a possible prison sentence of 1-6 years. Stout is charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident resulting in death to another person, a level 4 Felony, which could get her anywhere from 2-12 years behind bars. Both women entered not Not Guilty pleas.
Their next hearing is scheduled for August 21.
