(La Porte County, IN) - Police stopped another coast-to-coast drug shipment in La Porte County, as 35-year-old Kevin Debold has been charged in La Porte Superior Court 4 with Level 6 felony Dealing in Marijuana.

On May 22, State Police pulled over a cargo van traveling 56 to 60 miles per hour in a 70 mph zone on the Indiana Toll Road near Rolling Prairie, which had reportedly veered over the fog line multiple times.

Detecting the odor of marijuana, authorities conducted a search of the back end of the van where six large cardboard boxes containing marijuana and THC products were discovered, according to court documents. Debold revealed he was being paid to transport the marijuana from California to New York and did so on one previous occasion to “make extra money on the side.”

Debold, who is from New York, allegedly told investigators the marijuana was valued at about $100,000. He could face an up to 30-month sentence.
