(La Porte County, IN) - There were no injuries in a collision involving a La Porte City Police vehicle last Friday at Indiana 39 and U.S. 6.

According to authorities, at about 9 p.m., an officer was driving to work in his take-home Dodge Charger squad car.

The northbound officer was reportedly stopped at a four-way stop intersection, but when he pulled out the driver’s side of his vehicle was struck by an eastbound civilian vehicle. The other driver said she also stopped before pulling out, according to police. Both drivers told investigators they did not see one another.

Damage was heavy to both vehicles. Who was to blame for the crash will be left up to the insurance companies to determine, police said. The names of both drivers were not disclosed.
