(La Porte, IN) - Another brand-name band has been lined up to perform at this year’s LakeFest in La Porte, as Soul Asylum will perform at Fox Park on Saturday, July 27th.

 

La Porte Park and Recreation Department Superintendent Mark Schreiber made the announcement today during a segment on Rock 106.5 with host Trevor Michaels. 

 

“A Grammy Award-winning rock band. They really hit their stride in the early 90’s,” he said.

 

Schreiber said that Soul Asylum, with hits like the 1994 Grammy Award-winning Song of the Year, “Runaway Train,” puts on a high-energy show and that their performances remain high in demand.

 

“We really had to work hard to book them this year. We’re excited,” he said.

 

Headlining the musical entertainment at Lake Fest last year was Everclear, another major hit-making band that made a name for itself mostly during the 90’s. Schreiber is hoping the turnout for Soul Asylum will be even greater than the huge crowd that showed up for last year's headliner.

 

The fourth annual Lake Fest is scheduled for July 26th-28th.
