(La Porte, IN) - The La Porte Rotary Club is helping the city and community financially, as Rick Bockhorst, President-Elect of the organization, presented a $7,500 check to the park department for the Blossom Trail during Monday night’s La Porte City Council meeting.

 

“That’ll be a great addition to the Clear Lake area,” he said.

 

Bockhorst also revealed the La Porte Rotary Club is sponsoring the Independence Day fireworks and paying half of the cost thereof, which will be on July 3rd this year at Clear Lake.

 

“Service above self is our heartbeat in what we do,” he said.

 

He also said the Rotary Club this year is partnering with 20 organizations countywide to help them fulfill their service to and make La Porte County a better place to live.

 

“It’s going to be an exciting year this year,” he said.  

 

Bockhorst will officially become president of the organization on July 1st.
