(La Porte County, IN) - A man has been accused of flashing a gun at a bar in Union Mills and later shooting a firearm in the City of La Porte. Willard Lawson, 39, is still being held as of today in the La Porte County Jail on charges such as Criminal Recklessness and Intimidation.
On Friday night, La Porte County Police officers responded to Union Bar and Grill in downtown Union Mills where the investigation illustrated how Lawson was told to leave for coming in with a drink from another bar. In response, police said, Lawson pulled out a gun inside the bar and began waving it while making threats to people in the establishment.
Later that evening, he allegedly shot at a vehicle in La Porte near Fox Park. A few hours later, he was located in the city’s downtown area just south of East Lincolnway.
So far, additional details about the case in La Porte have not been made available by local authorities because of the ongoing investigation.
