(La Porte County, IN) - This past Sunday. an elderly woman was killed in a fatal head-on crash between two vehicles on County Road 400 North near 850 West in Coolspring Township.

At about 2 p.m., La Porte County Police said 74-year-old Cynthia Schoof of La Porte veered over the center line, striking an oncoming car driven by 68-year-old Susan Hall, also of La Porte. The drivers were reportedly not injured.

The victim was 92-year-old Carol Lukes. The La Porte woman, a passenger in Hall's vehicle, was taken to a regional hospital with an upper-body injury and later died. 75-year-old Jackie Frankowski, who rode in the Schoof vehicle, also sustained an upper-body injury and was taken to a hospital. Police did not shed light on her condition.
