(La Porte, IN) - Taco lovers should like the next upcoming event in downtown La Porte.

 

Taco Fest is scheduled for October 15 at La Stitch on Monroe Street north of Lincolnway from 5-10 PM. In addition to tacos, the festivities will include live music and beer.

 

Four restaurants will also compete for the title of “Best Taco.”

 

Mayor Tom Dermody said the hope is to have a Mariachi band playing during the festival to celebrate National Hispanic American Heritage Month. Because such bands are expensive, the city asks to speak with anyone who can help arrange for a Mariachi band to play that evening.
