(La Porte County, IN) - The state of Indiana has a new nature preserve, and it’s in La Porte County.

Sebert Woods Nature Preserve is near Michigan City, east of Interstate 94 and south of the Wintergreen Woods Nature Preserve, a few miles south of the Indiana-Michigan state line.

According to the Indiana Natural Resources Commission, there are close to 40 acres of swamp, Flatwoods, and forest.

Well over 300 plant species exist there, with some commonly found much farther to the north.
