(La Porte County, IN) - A La Porte County woman has been arrested for allegedly beating her disabled husband.

 

59-year old Tamara Ritchie is charged in La Porte Circuit Court with battery and strangulation.

 

According to court documents, officers on Friday were called to their home on Division Road near Westville, Indiana. Police say she was taking care of her husband following a series of strokes.

 

After returning home, she allegedly made hateful remarks, poured lotion all over him, wrapped a telephone cord around his neck, and began pulling.

 

Shortly after, she allegedly hit him in the head multiple times with a metal fan cover. Police say the victim had a swollen eye along with cuts and bruises to his face.

 

Ritchie was being held on a $15,000 bond.
