(La Porte, IN) - The La Porte Fire Department is hosting an open house this weekend.
The public is invited to the fire station on 18th Street for tours, along with a free lunch. The open house is scheduled for Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM.
Carbon monoxide detectors will also be given away to people in attendance.
The annual event will help usher in National Fire Prevention Week, a weekly observance begun by former President Calvin Coolidge in 1925. Last year, the event was canceled by COVID-19.
