(La Porte, IN) - The La Porte Slicers could be in for quite a challenge tonight if they want to win two high school football games in a row. La Porte travels to undefeated Merrillville.

 

Chip Jones, 96.7 the Eagle's "Voice of the Slicers," said the Slicers will have to find a way to deal with the tremendous speed of the Pirates, who have several NCAA Division I caliber players.

 

“Merrillville is awfully good. They’re probably the most talented team we’re going to play. La Porte is really going to have to play well, not make mistakes, and hopefully, get a little bit of help from Merrillville," Jones says. 

La Porte defeated Lake Central last week 27-20 in overtime, while Merrillville beat Michigan City 40-14. The Slicers are 2-3 on the season.

 

The game will be broadcast live on 96.7 The Eagle, beginning with the pregame show at 6:45 PM.
