(La Porte County, IN) - Charges have been filed against a man who allegedly crashed while fleeing La Porte County Police.

 

28-year old Sayvon Gamble posted a $15,000 cash bond yesterday.

 

The Gary man was pulled over for speeding last Thursday on State Road 2 near Rolling Prairie. He was asked questions about a strong odor of marijuana in the vehicle when he began revving his engine and fled. The pursuit went into South Bend, where the suspect crashed into a utility pole and house. The power lines down from the pole being severed were later repaired.

 

Marijuana and a loaded handgun were seized, according to the authorities. 

 

After being treated for his injuries, Gamble was taken to the La Porte County Jail, where he later posted bond.
