(La Porte, IN) - A man was ticketed for allegedly passing a stopped school bus in La Porte. John Harris, 28, was cited for Reckless Driving and ordered to appear in La Porte Superior Court 3 on June 7th to answer to the Class B misdemeanor offense.

Authorities say that after school had concluded on Wednesday an officer was following a bus on I Street when it came to a stop and, with its stop arms extended, was allegedly passed by the oncoming Harris in his 2012 GMC Sierra pick-up truck.

The officer then quickly made a traffic stop and handed the driver a summons to appear in court regarding the violation. 

The La Porte man could face an up to six-month jail sentence and a $1,000 fine.
