A celebration of life service will be conducted and announced at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana.
Ronald was born August 20, 1950, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late Milton Eugene and Winifred (Wiesemann) Cota. On September 28, 1968, in Michigan City, Indiana, he married Penni Wilson who survives in La Porte, Indiana. Also surviving are sons, Chuck (Margaret) Cota, and Wayne (Lynette) Cota; daughter, Cheryle (Jim) Bradford; seven grandchildren, Chase (Aimee ) Cota, Luke (Riley Schliem) Cota, Connor Bradford, Cheyanne (Sergio) Vargas, Cheyenne (Stephanie Wilson) Grisham, Colton (Lorelei) Losiniecki, and Nik (Jia) Stoll; two great-grandchildren, Owen Cota, and Eli Cota; brother, Larry (Charlotte) Cota; numerous brother and sister-in-laws from the Wilson family side and many nieces, nephews and cousins along with "Extra" children that are friends of his children; He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Lauren Malott;
Ronald retired as an electrician from US Steel, (Hot Strip) Gary, Indiana. After retirement he worked part-time at Sand Creek Country Club, Chesterton, Indiana, as a maintenance worker. Ronald enjoyed many cook-outs, pool parties, and fishing trips with his U.S. Steel family. He collected robots and miniature trains as a hobby.
