Rodney Allen Day

Rodney Allen Day, 69, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at his home.

Rodney was born on July 8, 1957, in La Porte, IN, to Robert and Laura (Goodson) Day.

Rodney married the love of his life, Tina Cardenas, on October 23, 2021. He leaves behind his loving wife, Tina; father, Robert Joseph Day; daughter, Destanee Norman; and grandchildren, Mia, Ava, Ali, and Colton.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Laura Mae Day and brothers, Todd A. Day and Mark J. Day.

Rodney worked as a long-haul truck driver. He was a member of the I Street Church of Christ. Rodney took great pride in being a big brother to his cousins and was the designated family auctioneer.

Rodney enjoyed fishing, camping, and especially his grandchildren. He was a true family man, particularly when it came to his beautiful wife.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5 pm on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at I Street Church of Christ with Preacher John Haferkamp officiating.

A time of visitation will be held from 3 pm until the time of the service on Wednesday at the church. Cremation will take place following the service.

Memorial donations may be made to the family c/o Tina Day, 2900 Monroe Street, La Porte, IN 46350.
