Raymond E. Feldmeier, 86, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 10:40 a.m. at Franciscan Health - Michigan City.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Mary Mother of Mercy Catholic Parish - St. Mary Campus, Buffalo and 10th Streets, Michigan City, Indiana, with Fr. David Kime officiating. Private burial will take place at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana, is assisting the family with arrangements.
He was born November 26, 1939, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late William and Pearl (Schmidt) Feldmeier. On September 17, 1960, in Michigan City, Indiana, he married Sandra Kay (Hathoot) Feldmeier, who survives in Michigan City.
Also surviving are his son, John Feldmeier of New Carlisle, Indiana; daughter, Kristin Beth (Jacob) Skibinski of La Porte, Indiana; and five grandchildren, Zachary Feldmeier, Alexandra "Lexi" (Jordan) Petty, Cooper Skibinski, Emma Skibinski and Megan Skibinski. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Laura Feldmeier; four sisters, Mary Ubler, Arlene La Berge, Eleanor Turndrup and Dorothy Batzel; and brother, Howard Feldmeier.
Raymond worked as a safety director with the United Steelworkers at Bethlehem Steel. He was a devoted member of Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Queen of All Saints Men's Rosary Group. Raymond's faith and family were important parts of his life, and he especially cherished the time he spent with those he loved.
