Joanne C. Dehlinger, 66, of Westville, Indiana, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 9:05 a.m. at Franciscan Health – Michigan City.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington Street, Michigan City, Indiana, with Brian Parker officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral chapel.
She was born June 20, 1960, in Buffalo, New York, to the late Ronald and Maryann (Greean) Dehlinger.
Surviving are her son, Adam (April) Brinckman of Elkhart, Indiana; two daughters, Carol Brinckman of Anaheim, California, and Kathleen (Kristopher) Gouge of Trail Creek, Indiana; six grandchildren, Evan, Ian (Trinity), Shawn, Zoey, Molly, and Hazel; two great-grandchildren, Elsie Mae and Collette; and four sisters, Donna (Phil) Skwiat of Michigan City, Indiana, Susan (Don) Brunn of Buffalo, New York, Nancy (Tony) Robinson of Chesterton, Indiana, and Mary (Neal) Grams of Medina, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
After graduating from high school, Joanne continued her education at Purdue University North Central, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She dedicated 37 years of her career to the La Porte County Health Department before retiring in January 2026. Joanne had a true passion for her work and deeply cared about helping others and serving those in need.
Joanne was an avid reader and had a great love for watercolor painting, a passion she shared with her grandchildren. She treasured the countless hours they spent together painting, creating crafts, and making special memories. She also loved music and enjoyed attending concerts and performances at local theaters. Above all, Joanne cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, who brought tremendous joy to her life.
