Diane Elaine Ahart, 78, of New Carlisle, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at her home with her family by her side.

 

Diane was born on September 3, 1947, in Chicago, IL, to Robert and Elaine (Sampatis) Lindquist.

 

On February 3, 1976, in Highland, IN, she married Thomas Ahart who survives. Also surviving are her children, Lisa (Natalie Marcione) Daugherty of New Carlisle, Leigh (Anthony) Fitzsimons of Griffith, and Daniel (Kimberly) Ahart of St. Joseph, IL; grandchildren, Catherine, Anna, Lillian, Preston and Addilyn; as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Karen (Lindquist) Osenga.

 

Diane worked as a newspaper circulator for The Times of Northwest Indiana for more than 30 years. She was a member of the YMCA. Diane enjoyed gardening, decorating for Christmas, going to the "Y" pool with her friends, her grandchildren, and her pets.

 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Deacon Richard Voytas officiating.

 

A time of visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Cremation will take place following the service.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Hobart, in memory of Diane Ahart, 2054 IN 130, Hobart, IN 46342.
