Joan I. McGinnis, 89, of Westville, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 1:33 p.m.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington Street, Michigan City, Indiana.
Joan was born on August 14, 1936, to the late Jackson and Georgina (Keys) Edwards. On February 7, 1959, in Michigan City, Indiana, she married Robert McGinnis, who preceded her in death on March 2, 2013.
Surviving are her daughter, Patricia (Andy) Kremke of Westville, Indiana; her son, Hank (Betsy) McGinnis of La Porte, Indiana; three grandchildren, Kristofer Kremke, Kyle Kremke, and Sierra (Nick) Jamell; and two great-grandchildren, Rory and Penelope.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jackson and Georgina Edwards, and her husband, Robert McGinnis.
