Constance L."Connie" Runnels, 80, Michigan City, IN, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at 7:35 am in her home.
Private family services will be conducted. Entombment will take place in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.
She was born July 26, 1945 to the late Conrad and Florence (Sewell) Hammond. On April 15, 1972 in Michigan City, IN she married James Runnels who preceded on February 4, 2002.
Surviving are her daughter, Jody (Todd) Polita of Trail Creek, IN; son, James Conrad Runnels of Michigan City, IN; two grandchildren, Danielle (Tyson) Blattner of Overland Park, KS and Liah Mauger of Chesterton, IN; great-grandchild, Bodie Blattner; sister, Jenni Hammond of Indianapolis, IN; and her brother, John (Norma) Hammond of Carmel, IN.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Lee Arthur; and great-grandchild, Dax Blattner.
Connie had worked as a secretary at Swanson Center and she enjoyed being with her family.
