Richard J. Pietraszewski, 87, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 23, 2026.

 

Born on May 10, 1939, in La Porte, Richard was the son of the late Henry and Julia (Nowicki) Pietraszewski.

 

Richard retired in 2001 from the former Modine Manufacturing Company in La Porte after many years of dedicated service. A 1957 graduate of South Bend Washington High School, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a faithful member of Holy Family Parish, Sacred Heart Church in La Porte, as well as the PNA Club and Moose Lodge 3492, where he enjoyed the fellowship of many lifelong friends.

 

On April 15, 1961, Richard married the love of his life, Shirley Krcilek, who survives. Also cherishing his memory are their sons, Mark Pietraszewski and Wayne Pietraszewski, both of La Porte; his beloved grandchildren, Brett and Alex Pietraszewski; and his brother, Melvin (Cathy) Pietraszewski of Mt. Prospect, Illinois.

 

Private family services will be held at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.
