Sharon M. (Jasicki) Runnels, June 22, 1956 - July 15, 2026.
Sharon Marie Runnels joined the angels she always loved on 07/15/2026. Sharon passed away at her home surrounded by her devoted and loving family.
Sharon was born on June 22, 1956, in Michigan City, to Marian (Diaczuk) and Eugene Jasicki. Sharon grew up in Michigan City and lived the last 40 years in Rolling Prairie.
Sharon was a 1976 graduate of Elston High school and was a lab technician for several years before devoting herself to raising her two children until they were of school age. Sharon then began working at Franklin Pharmacy. At age 43 Sharon decided to become a nurse and graduated from Ivy Tech College. Sharon worked on the oncology floor at St Joseph Medical Center in South Bend for 10 years. She then worked at Rittenhouse in Michigan City for 13 years. Sharon found her true calling being a nurse with her endless amount of compassion, skill, knowledge, and dedication. Sharon retired in 2022.
On October 9th, 1976, Sharon married Larry Runnels, the love of her life, who survives. Together they shared 49 wonderful years. Sharon was the proud mother of Ryan (Angie Burroughs) Runnels and Lindsey (Mike) Blankenship. She also adored her 2 granddaughters, Brianna Runnels and Madison Runnels. Sharon endlessly enjoyed her 5 great-grandchildren: Bentley, Addilynn, Alexander, Sadie, and Freya. Family was the most important thing to Sharon and her love was unconditional and limitless.
Sharon leaves behind two sisters, Marilyn Jasicki of Syracuse, Indiana, and Anne (Jess) Adams of Michigan City. Also surviving are brothers-in-law Dale Runnels and Phil Whybrew, in addition to daughter-in-law Brenda Runnels.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and sisters-in-law Pat Runnels and Nancy Whybrew.
Sharon loved to cook and was known for her delicious sausage & sauerkraut. Sharon enjoyed spending time with her husband traveling on cruises with friends, camping, boating on Lake Wawasee, and finding a good fish fry. Sharon's ring tone summed up her life perfectly. She was always "Humble & Kind".

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, July 27, 2026 at the F.O.P. Dunes Lodge #75, 416 U.S. Hwy 20, Michigan City, IN.
