Glen M. Thomas, 73, of Walkerton, passed away peacefully Monday, July 13, 2026, at Franciscan Health in Michigan City.

 

He was born July 2, 1953, in Pudacah, KY, to Freeland Moris and Opal Maurine (Grief) Thomas.

 

On July 22, 2000, in Walkerton, he married Debra Bobik-Thomas, who survives.

 

Glen worked for 54 years as an electrical technician at the steel mill previously called Inland Steel. In 2010, he proudly earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University.

 

Glen enjoyed hunting for antiques, going for rides in the country, going out to eat and doing some shopping. He was very artistic and in his younger years liked painting and photography. Above all he loved spending time with his family. Glen came to know the Lord and is confident he will be reunited with his loved ones and pets.

 

Glen is survived by his wife, Debra; children, Angela Thomas and Andrew (Jeannette) Thomas; step-son, Joseph Bobik Sr.; step-father, Jay Hahn; sisters, Loraine (Tom) Landrum and Pam Brink; mother-in-law, Judy Cook; grandchildren, Joseph Jr., Damien, Chloe, Katelyn, David, and Skylar.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents, and his former wife Kitty.

 

A celebration of life will take place at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, (219) 362-3100, with Pastor Randall B. Gann officiating. There will be a visitation and viewing from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
