James  "Wiskey" Wiskeman, January 25, 1947 - July 8, 2026.

James M. "Wiskey" Wiskeman, 79, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026, peacefully in his home.

A time of visitation will take place Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm where full military honors will take place at the conclusion of the visitation in the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana.

He was born January 25, 1947, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, to the late Robert M. and Harriet B.(Bush) Wiskeman. On November 18, 1972, in Michigan City, Indiana, he married Ellen K. Rist, who survives Michigan City, Indiana.  Also surviving are son, Jimmy (Sandy) Wiskeman of Shiloh, Illinois; daughter, Jami (Tim) Childs of South Bend, Indiana; five grandchildren, Jared Wiskeman, Josh Wiskeman, Joe Childs, Jacob Childs, and Lucas Childs; sister, Cindi (Ron) Sparks of Mooresville, North Carolina.

Jim retired after more than 20 years as a carpenter with Tonn & Blank Construction Co., Michigan City, Indiana.  He also served in the United States Army, and a member of the Phi Delta Kappa Fraternity Gamma Lambda Chapter, Michigan City, Indiana for over 48 years. He was an excellent carpenter (perfectionist), enjoyed playing baseball, softball and golf.  Also, loved running his trains and fiddling in his workshop with his boys.  Most of all he loved spending whatever time he could with his 5 grandsons, they meant the world to him, he was the BEST papa.
